WAMP is the typical web stack for Windows based systems. Luckily, there is a super simple way to to install and work with this, WAMP

To install, simply download the executable and install. The default save location is C:/wamp. The default web directory for site files is C:/wamp/www. That simple. it even has phpMyAdmin built in for database management.

There are many popular code editors for Windows. Word and Notepad don't do any justice. Notepad++, PSpad, codeblocks, and more are available.
